Overview
Johno Mellish, born in 1991, lives and works in Cape Town. He completed a BA in Film and Media at Afda and a Post Graduate Diploma at Michaelis School of Fine Arts.
Johno has shown his work in multiple group and solo exhibitions both locally and abroad. In 2021 he showed at ParisPhoto with THK Gallery and was nominated for a C/O Berlin Talent award by artists Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs. Most recently he had a solo presentation at the Cape Town Art Fair in 2023 and at Unseen Amsterdam 2023.
He has made three photobooks and has been featured in multiple magazines and publications. Notably Zeit Magazin, Interview Magazine, Its Nice That and Metal
Magazine.
